ATH-AD500x

This forum doesn't have search... what is wrong with you people!?

So I play Battlefield 4 a lot, and I really started getting a whole lot better when I started playing with headphones.  Had been using my integrated amp and bookshelf speakers, which are awesome for music but not so much for gaming.

Now I tried with my Sony MDR-V6, but they're uncomfortable long term.   I bought a pair of Steelseries 5hv3 to use the mike, and frankly the mike sucks ass and the headphones don't sound right.  I have a pair of AKG K271Mkii for work mainly because I can't hear anyone else with them on.  I tried the AKG and they worked pretty well, and I considered buying another set, but then I saw these tek-syndicate videos and the mention of the open design allowing better positioning I thought I'd give it a try.   Reading some reviews, the AD500x seemed to be very similar to the AD700x, same size and such with same limitations(crappy cord and headband), so I figured I'd save some money and try them.

I'm not too worried about the bass, actually kind of like that.   The AKG K271mkii have weak bass, and I just love them for long term listening.

They're supposed to arrive tomorrow, and I'll followup with my impressions.

I have some 500x's and they are great the sound space is really nice for locating where sounds are coming from.  Use a small string of shoe lace to fix the headband just tie it together.
