Hello. I'm having trouble getting my PC to connect to the internet. I know the connection is good because it works on my laptop, and after a lot of fuss I can get it to work on my desktop, but every time I power down it doesn't work again. The only "fix" I have found is switching the psu off (I know it's really bad) and that made it connect to the internet again a couple times when starting it back up. Another weird issue I've noticed is it has trouble posting when I turn the psu off after shutting the system down properly. Anyone know what's going on? My system is currently not OCed at all. As the title says I have the Asus Z97 Gene mobo and my cpu is a i7 4770k and my PSU is a Corsair AX1200.
Thanks!
P.S. I have already tried completely removing the network driver and reinstalling it, that didn't seem to work.
restore bios to default settings.
uninstall the intel network adapter in device manager, restart machine, grab the latest network drivers from the Asus website, install them & see how ya go.
Already tried disabling and reenabling. The driver I installed for it was the latest driver. All bios setting (except for boot device priority) are at their default.
run a linux distro off a usb (any distro will do), if networking works in linux then you can rule out a hardware fault, leaving windows and drivers to be the culprit.
Actually I think I found the potential problem. The Asus Gamefirst 3 internet software has been messing up a bit here and there so I decided to remove it and I connected right up. I don't want to restart my PC right now to test it though since it's working for now and I need to use it. Has anyone else experienced problems with this software?
