Okay i've run into one of the weirdest problems ever. I have 2 rigs:
Asus z97-ar Asus p8z77-lk
i7 4790k
xfx 850w black edition
Latest bios 2205
i5 3570k
msi gtx 660 twinfrozr powercolor r9 290 pcs+
evga suprnovaGS 850w
Bios: N/A but doesn't matter since this rig everything works
when running valley benchmark on the z97-ar and playing csgo both crashes and sometimes shuts the z97 board down, but when i swap the card to my p8z77-lk(using DisplayDriverUninstaller first of course) it runs absolutely fine.
so i of course assumed the pci-e slots were messed up , and to test that theory i used my r9 290 on the z97 board and it doesn't even crash at all. . .what? surely someone knows what might be going wrong.
hmm yeah thats kinda weird.
Does it also crash with your 290?
no i mentioned it on the last paragrah
ah missed that part.
yeah thats kinda weird, i assume its a driver conflict somehow then.
Or does it realy shuts completely down?
hmmm if you were to guess what would you think?
wenn you switch graphic cards, make sure you have fully uninstalled the drivers.
But why would you change the 290 for a GTX660?
i mentioned this took in the post that i used display driver uninstaller before switching the cards, switching the 290 for the gtx 660 was to verify my pci-e slot was working which i also mentioned in my post
hmm yeah its kinda weird, is your mobo bios up to date?
Normaly if you fully uninstall the gpu drivers, then switching out the cards, should basicly work.
But somehow there seem to besomething going wrong.
May check the windows event logger, if you can capture any hardware errors there.
yeah its up to date using bios 2205 from website
