Is there any reason that I could not use the ASUS ROG RamCache software with a non-ROG MoBo?
I have 32 GB in a 4x8 configuration on a ASUS Z-170A
I personally I would guess that there is no reason to use it at all (any RAMcaching program on windows).
That kind of tools maybe had some value on windows instalations from over a decade ago. Now system does most of the work. The only benefit from adidtional cache would be in case that you constantly have 26+ GB memory used for programs which makes less memory available for system caches and you particullary care about manually configure specific set of files to be always cached (I assume that that RamCache has that possibility?) because they are on HDD.
Second difference is that ram caching programs tend to pre-cache in ram at the start of the system.
that ramcache you have ZERO control over other than the drive and the size.

you CANT manually place anything into it
