ASUS ROG X370 Gaming-F Motherboard/Intel NIC issue

I’m just about to bring this board back to Micro center!
Windows 10 X64, v.1801? (the latest version) R5 1600 wraith cooler, Corsair Vengeance LPX (qvl) 3000 (2166 currently).

A day or so after the build was complete I set my OC using MB quick setting, it was like 4.0 @ 1.35 volts and d.o.c.p to DDR4 3000 and it was total beast mode. Then the NIC (Intel) just stopped working intermittently. Dev Man states the device is reporting a problem so Windows is disabling. After a day or so of trying different things it hardly works at all.
All the things:

  1. swapped Cat5e cables, router ports, direct to modem.
  2. Set MB settings to default
  3. installed win 10 on 2nd ssd - worked for a few hours then nothing
  4. installed Ubuntu 17.5 - during live USB 100% functional. After install, a curious thing. Web pages load fine, you tube no prob, but could not r/c updates/download softwares. Eventually, no Internets using Ethernet.
  1. ASUS tech support, no help.

First thing i would checkout if there are newer NIC drivers for your particular board.
Also update the bios, if you didnt do allready.

Already done. ASUS tech said there is a known issue with Win 10 and this board but couldn’t offer a solution. I’ve been unable to find someone writing about my issue with this board anywhere. Last night I was able to battlefield and YouTube my heart’s content but then this morning while in a BF3 server the NIC just disappeared from Dev Man and connection dropped. It off to MC I go on Fri. or Sat. My worry is that the problem may be endemic

Yeah well the thing is that the particular intel nic is used on multiple motherboards.
So it might just be that your praticular board has an issue,
and you probablly should return or rma it.

So I r/t to Microcenter and r/p MB (same model). Solved problem/created new; now Crash To Black Screen while BF1 multiplayer. Tried default settings, tried OC, still prob persists. Will continue testing over the next week but my gut tells me there is something wrong with this board too. My OCs have thus far been confined to the TPU options in UEFI. I’ll next try manual oc w/voltage manipulation to see if this solves it.

Thoughts?

I have the same board mine did the same last year around july/august I reinstalled my complete windows did manual intel driver nic install came out it was the router and the windows update that made it crash all time do you have a network switch laying around or second router you can connect with wired lan that worked for me :stuck_out_tongue:

is that bios the latest or did you update and it happend after ?

As far as the CTBS problem, it seems ASUS Aura Sync software had a bug in the temp sense feature which will cause the system to hang. From what I read it is constantly querying the temp sensors on MB and CPU which is the cause(?) of the CTBS. Switching Aura Sync to any other mode (other than Temperature) is instafix. Also opening CPU-Z or HarwareMon will also crash the system. Interesting…
