I was unsuccessful in turning off the IPMI access to the BMC on this motherboard. Theoretically switch 17 (IPMI) should do the trick, but it does not work for me… No matter the position of the switch, ethernet access is still open. The only way currently for me to solve this problem is to turn the BMC off fully. I do not want to do that - it would be nice to have fan and system checks.
Is there an explanation for this issue and or solution for turning off ethernet access to the IPMI-BMC on the 10G ethernet ports?
It does give you the option in BIOS to disable the network to BMC communication.
What if you set in BIOS, the ip address of the BMC to static and then use an address outside of your ranges?
At some point I thought I read that the IPMI was only on the 1st lan port so if you connected just the second , but that might be a false memory.
