ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE Motherboard Registration Issues

Hi,

Has anyone had issues with registering their motherboard

I recently purchased an ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE Motherboard and I am unable to register the motherboard with the serial number on the box and the board.

I checked with ASUS and they have no record of the board. The board was manufactured in April 2022.

I tested the registration process with a board from another reseller which was manufactured in March 2022 and it worked fine.

Not a good start on the AI/ML Threadripper Pro Build.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have not experienced that. I believe the ARS team are completely different to the normal, terrible Asus RMA team.

Yeah ASUS have been helpful…comparing the numbers looks like N4MCKC seems to be standard for the serial number where the number is the month of manufacturing so March would be N3MCKC.

Hopefully the reseller won’t refuse to replace the board when they get new stock, and I can get back to building the machine.

Yes RoardoEngineering, I’ve had all sorts of issues registering my WRX80E-SAGE board on the ASUS site. Starting with login using Chrome. It says my password has to be between “8~25” characters, mine is 11.

I have to use Firefox. :slightly_frowning_face: Regardless of browser, login shouldn’t be that hard.

Then when I go to register, after I input my WRX80E serial number, the site recognizes it as a WRX80E board (!) but throws an error after clicking “Register your product”.

Not confidence inspiring… so yes, you do not seem to be the only one.

Yeah when was your motherboard manufactured.

The reseller has been helpful arranging another motherboard.

ASUS at the resellers request added the original serial number of the board manually to my ASUS account.

Perhaps you could try contact ASUS or bug your reseller to submit a ticket on your behalf.

I have asked ASUS for further clarification as to what the specific issue was that resulted in the provided serial number not being valid

My motherboard was also manufactured in April 2022 and as of today August 23rd, I was able to register it using Firefox.

Might have been an issue with the DB. I just found it strange that ASUS would loose inventory like that.

As long as the board is registered prior to the build commencing less of a worry with warranty.

Generally ASUS and the reseller in Australia (Scorptec) have tried to help which is always good and all that can be done when something goes wrong.
