I recently bought an Asus W680-ACE motherboard to be paired with a 12900k. Almost everything works fine, however I am having an issue when it comes to putting the pc to sleep. When I induce sleep mode the computer will either wake up immediately or restart (like an unexpected power cycle). The board has a debug LED that shows codes but it is not showing any error codes.
I’ve tried to mess around with powercfg settings, disconnecting USB peripherals, leaving only 1 stick of ram (using Kingston ECC-UDIMM which is on the QVL list for this board) installed, updating to the latest bios, I’m at my wits end.
Again, everything else with the board works fine.
I came from a 5900x/Asus x570 Prime combo and sleep worked fine for the most part.
At this point I think it’s the board. Since I just purchased the board, I started a replacement order but I’m making this thread to see if anyone can provide any insight.
I did want to say I was finally able to get the PC to sleep and resume successfully, I had to remove my 7900xt and use the iGPU. It seems like the AMD drivers/GPU is causing the issue.
I was using the 23.5.1 drivers, so maybe newer drivers have resolved the issue.
Solved the issue! It was the Coral ai TPU (pictured below, Green PCB thing) that I had purchased recently. I’ll relocate it to another box as I need sleep to be working on my main desktop.
To reiterate, the pc would either crash (reboot) and wake immediately after being put to sleep with this card installed. Hopefully this post can help someone else.
