All of a sudden my usb 3 ports with the blue outline on the IO shield have stopped transmitting data. They power devices such as a phone but they can't detect when I have put in a usb 3 drive (the drive has a blue LED showing it is powered).

My green outlined USB 3 work fine though for my headphones and flash drives.

I have updated my intel and asmedia drivers from the asus website but still it doesn't work.

How can I fix this?

check to see if the onboard mother board usb3 connection is connected.

Does that plug affect how the integrated motherboard USB header works because I broke a pin on it so I can't use USB 3 front headers.
