I've got a Asus P8Z77-V Pro more expensive I know but still both brands and a AsRock Z77 Extreme 4 in 2 different builds.
I think AsRock is much better bang for buck and well featured. I'd go AsRock it's a great board.
I have the Asus P8Z77-V LX just built my pc has everything you need. Only downside 2 sata 6.0 gbs ports.
asrock has better features for that price point... asus has some small gimmiks, but almost everything of there's is $40+ more that their competitors
id say ASUS for usb 3 unless your case does not have it, then ASRock
Asrock is ex Asus employees and the actual board is manufactured by the same company. Get the one with the features you like. I would just look to see if there boards have coil whine. Dam I hate coil whine.
wrong, almost all modern mobos have usb3, in fact, asrock even has mobos with 2 headers for front panel, asus's usb thing is a gimmick, the devices don't even use all of the speed of normal usb3, hell, it's faster than sata 3g/s, meaning its faster than most esata
coil whine? from what? coil whine is made by the motors in the fans, asrock doesn't have fans on their mobos, and you really don't need them
