ASUS MB168B HD Portable USB-Powered Monitor with USB 3.0: Work with Linux?

Hey guys I was wondering if this will work for my Linux laptop?

These monitors uses a tecnology called DisplayLink. Linux has experimental support for them. It's not an easy process to make them work and it's not guaranteed.

That being said DisplayLink provides Linux drivers for Ubuntu. They officially support it. But the driver has been repackaged for others distros too.

I use Mint and I know that Mint came from Ubuntu ,(I think), so should it have the drivers?

I've had all sorts of problems getting the USB 3 version of displaylink to work with ubuntu and couldn't get there drivers to work. You may have better luck but it's a hassle.

You can download them from here http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu.php

But there's no guarantee it will work.
