Asus maximus v formula 8pin&4 power

well i own a asus maximus v formula and this is my question when to use the 4 pin power for the cpu ?

my build is 3770K overclocked 4.6Ghz 1.344V/ runing h100 Temp around 65-max reach73 with prime95/ 8gb ram 1k mhz / gtx 680 , 1000 W psu xfx gold/ haf x case

the thing is i searched the net nobody tells u when to plug it in and how it works and many forums ppl ask same thing but no satifying answer i came here seaking any reply that would makse sense and if there is some evedance or proof,

1) when to plug it like over some Voltage ? (or ghz? like 5.0)

2) will it work as a back up power for the cpu like if the 8 pin did fail it will cover it up so it will give power for the cpu?

3) why the hell asus didnt just write in the manual and gave me break T_T

Okay after rereading this a few times I figure out what you meant. The extra 4pin is for extreme overclocking, eg. liquid nitrogen, helium, bull semen, etc. Though it doesn't hurt to plug in if you've got the connectors for it.

ok but for howmuch watt ? i mean when to plug it in i get it for extreme but in numbers how much ?
