It is a good motherboard, but it's not suitable for the 8320. You should get the M5A97 R2.0 EVO, which has a better power phase. Or grab a 99 or 990 chipset motherboard e.g M5A99X R2.0
I have one and a FX-6300 which I can get 4.4ghz with out too much work. I would agree with Berserker though you are going to want better power delivery for the 8320, for a few more $ you get a bit of piece of mind that you will achieve a better, more stable OC.
yeah if you wanne overclock a FX 8 core cpu, its better to spend a littlebit more into a better motherboard. Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 is a good choice
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 would be my choice. Make sure you get revision 4 of the board though (better VRM cooling).
I have that board with 8320 at 4GHz and it's doing just fine.
I have that mobo and it can only push my FX8350 to 4.4ghz. Get a better mobo with higher power phase if you plan on high OCs.
it's a good board for an FX-6300 with some overclocking. Me personally, I say if you gonna go 125W cpu, go closer to M5A99FX Pro R2.0
i have managed to save up abit more money now to get a better mobo, which one of the 3 below would you say would be best for overlocking my fx 8320
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
Asrock 990FX Extreme3
MSI 990 FXA-GD65
many thanks
Asus, the M5A99FX Pro R2.0 line would be the best.
I've built my sons desktop with the ASUS M5A99Fx PRO R2.0... it's not too expensive on amazon if you deal with them, on newegg its like 115 bucks if you use the rebate. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/NrTWGX
please dont grab the Asrock 990FX extreme3 it just has a 4+1 powerphase and crap vrm´s just dont toutch it.
