Asus m5a 97 r2.0 doesn't output any audio

Hey guys

Today my Asus mobo's audio output suddenly stopped working, both via the back and the front panel. I am not an audio enthusiast just so you know before I ask you a couple question. Would it be worth the time to send the mobo to the warranty process? Is there any other solution worth of investing money?

Probably I should have posted this in the audio section, move it if you prefer to.
Thank you in advice

Are the audio devices enable in your sound settings?
(For Windows, Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound>Playback)

It is not a software problem. I tried with Linux too and if I plug my headphone i can't hear any sound.

I had the audio die on two separate asus amd boards, the first time I took it back to the store and got a new one, the second I just bought a new sound card. (unfortunately I wasn't thinking and bought an asus xonar, which though I haven't had problems with, I feel bad about getting)

It's not a cheap board. What other options are you considering?

Sending it back it's the first option. Buying a new sound card also seems good enough to me. I saw that on amazon you can get a cheap audio USB adapter for 8 bucks and I wouldn't be unhappy

I would send it back. Once one thing dies sometimes more things die later. Plus they might just ship you a new board.
I have personally never done this so I have no idea what they are like to deal with. Best of luck

check the bios, if the onboard audio isnt disabled there.
