ASUS GTX TITAN & ASUS ML229 hdmi audio

ML229 has integrated speakers, and I thought that hdmi connection between the GPU and the monitor will give me the audio.

While both Windows and Nvidia utility sofwares recognise the audio output, no sound's coming out.

if some1 knows this monitor and get the speakers to work, tks to share with me how you connect it and why.

Set it as the default device because if there is 2 audio outputs active they will cancel each other out. Other than that have you tried turning it up? Because the have been issues when poeple have forgot.

enabled from windows audio managment >desabled any other audio display

Sound volume > to the max. The sound cue shows some activity(desktop & Win>audio managment>read>selected"ASUS ML229-1")

but no sound comes out!...??

Well thats a problem. Um ill try to find a fix but it will take some digging.

This is something i found, it mght work or might not.

  1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. In Device Manager, locate the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
  3. Click sound video and gaming controller
  4. Open each audio controller in sound video and gaming (one at a time) and update by Clicking the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions

This is NVIDIA HD audio driver which is included with the GPU driver >>>checked>>>Up-To-Date

In the NVIDIA control panel:

set up Digital Audio >>GeForce GTX TITAN >> HDMI : Ancor Communication Inc ASUS ML229

So, I just don't understand what's wrong.... Thanks, still.

I'm wondering, maybe there's different HDMI cables, like some give audio + video, others just the video.

Which doesn't make sense here, cause the audio device is visible in the NVIDIA control panel.

Yeh it doesn't make sense why it isn't working. But maybe have you got any other hdmi cables to use maybe?

I get it>> the audio features give an output for speakers next to HDMI input on the monitor.
