Asus GTX 660 DirectCU II vs XFX HD 7870

I know this question has been asked a billion times and I also think (because of benchmarks and reviews) that the hd 7870 is 5%-10% faster overall than the gtx 660 (correct me if I am wrong), but the main question is which cooling system is better generally and also for overclocking as I have heard a lot about Asus's awesome DirectCU II cooling but I don't know much about XFX's Double Dissipation so I just want to know if the cooling system is better and can the gtx 660 beat the 7870 when both are overclocked because of better cooling?

I mainly will be doing Gaming (75%) and also a bit of editing (25%) with the FX 8350. I also know Nvidia has cuda but i'm not that concerned about that as I only do a little bit of editing. I just want to know which of the two will give me the best gaming performance, both overclocked, on 1080p high to ultra settings giving me 40-50 fps.

you should look at other brands of the HD7870 coz XFX isnt really that good as compared to the old times, and IMO just go for the HD7870 since future games will work best on AMD platform

The 7870 is matched much more closely with the 660ti, rather than the standard 660. Most games happen to be optimised for AMD, so the 7870 has a slight performance edge.

Thanks :D
