I just finished building my first system and when I went to turn it on, the red cpu light came on. Does the Crosshair V Formula (it's not a Z version) need an updated bios chip to work with the 8350?
no. it should be fine, but it's worth a try
Yes you probably need a bios update for this mobo. the non Z is the oder version, and will probably have an older bios installed, that supports upto FX1.0 (zambezi). so yes you probably need a biosupdate, to support FX2.0 (vishera) cpu´s
