ASUS Am1I-A Mobo & Win 7

Not sure this is in the correct forum...but put together an Asus AM1 setup with a Sempron 3850, 1 stick of COrsair 1600 4gb (they only have single channel anyway) and an ITX case for my neighbours.

Linux Mint installs perfectly...but they don't want that...Windows 7 and 8 both BSOD with random BSOD codes (a different one each time it BSOD's) tried at least 10 times to install Win 7, tried every permutation and Bios setting (and it anyone from ASUS reads this...your UEFI BIOS is a mess with settings needed like BBS Boot hidden away), Gigabyte have a better layout.

So they aren't going to want Linux as you won't be able to install Norton - yes this is what they said...no arguing with these people..

Has anyone got any idea why this BSOD occurs on this board....what driver, settings, etc could be the issue...i.e you have the same board...I've built about 50 pc's so I don't need to know about anything rudimentary.

Thanks

"They don't Linux because they won't be able to install Norton on it..." Oh dear...

I agree with Kai - sounds like a possible hardware issue. Not sure what else to suggest.

What storage device are you installing on? (SSD, HDD, capacity?)

I have tried a Kingston SSD, then a Toshiba Laptop drive then a Seagate drive from my other PC.

Tried every settings, legacy this, UEFI that...safe boot on. off, whatever, it just blue screens. I tried linux mint and it says some bollocks about the GRUB this or the fooking GUI that....
