Ok I'm just testing the water. I have a Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 LGA 1155 and I want to know if there is a better board out there? I got this board at an amazing price but being me I got the itch's to change. I don't want to change my CPU (i5 3570K) I could only afford the i5 4670K if I did and it gives no gain in gaming (yes I've done a fair bit of research into that).
So I'm looking at another LGA 1155 mobo that will give me OC and SLi/Crossfire with lots of ports. Or is my Asrock worth holding onto? Cheers.
Specs:
i5 3570K
12GB ram
2 x GTX 660 OC editions in sli
Win7
What? You can't OC with this one? I've seen plenty of nice numbers with this. It's also not that cheap if you ask me.
Definitely no point in upgrading unless you have issues with it. I doubt adding more RAM or another card in sli would be much use, a single gtx 780/970 is faster.
I can OC, ok maybe I didn't word it very well, I was trying to say I want the features I have already plus extra
What other features are you going to use? Most motherboards have a common set of features since most features are 'chipset' based, in your case Z77.
Worth holding onto. Your board already supports all the feature you want:support for up to Quad-SLI/CFX (presumably from dual-gpu solutions such as the R9 295), 8 SATA ports in total, and an 8+4 phase power dealing should deliver stable power for high OC's. Not worth upgrading
