I'm trying to overclock my I5-3570k in my ASRock Z75 Pro3, and for some reason In OC Tweaker whenever I try to change the ratio to anything above 38, it automatically changes back to 38 whenever I hit Enter or Down. I've also tried changing it to 42 and hitting F10 to no avail, as HWMonitor and TaskManager only see speeds up to 3.6GHz.
I do have the newest BIOS(P2.00). I have loaded the UEFI Defaults (multiple times), I even installed an earlier bios (P1.80) to see if there was some strange compatibility issue.
I am running Windows 8.1 on Intel I5-3570k ASRock Z75 Pro3 8 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance Ram (I had 16 but my PC will only use 8 at a time, which makes me want to think this is a motherboard issue) Corsair CX430 PSU
If you have any idea of anything I can do to change this, I would be very greatful!
I have a Evo 212 cooler. I'm looking to bring it up to a multiplier of 40-44. It's not that its not stable, its that it won't physically clock up. And it shouldn't be a problem as it sits around 35 degrees under normal usage and only gets up to 50-55 under load.
Also enable X.M.P. if available along with the statement above. I've been able to get that same CPU to 4.4 with a core voltage of 1.27 but of course all cpus even of the same name are different and will differ with the same O.C. one thing I would try is select the cpu multiplier and use the + and - on your number pad instead of typing in 40 or 44
Also note that in task manager some numbers will not change weather it is part of the name (which is obviously not going to change) or its the "maximum speed"
