ASRock X670E not able to select Boot GPU

Hi all,

I have an X670E Taichi but am unable to find the option to set the boot GPU (it always uses the dedicated GPU)

My intention is to setup GPU passthrough but having the dedicated GPU as the boot GPU is very annoying.

I have checked in the PBS menu but unlike x570 their is no option to select primary video adaptor

Does anyone know if this has moved in X670 ?

If not it’s a bit of a limitation for VFIO setups

@wendell as you have been reviewing these did you find any way of forcing the iGPU to be the primary / boot GPU ?

Thanks in advance.

So far the only manufacturer that does is in prior history in terms of which slot boots VGA is Gigabyte. They may have a better option in the BIOS.

But this seems like a AGESA vs UEFI fight with teething issues.

Yeah so on my gigabyte x570 master those primary pcie slot selection never actually worked unless CSM was enabled

Asrock did have options … See here (https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=465)

But afaik the PBS menu should be common to all X670 motherboards

So yeah it’s probably an AGEGA maturity issue more than anything
