Hi! I’ve recently “finished” a workstation build using an Asrock WRX80 Creator R2.0, Threadripper Pro 5975WX, 8x32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200, and a Zotac RTX 3090 all within a custom loop.
The problem I’m having is that when all eight sticks are populated Windows only reports 224GB, with 7 of 8 slots filled. CPU-Z, on the other hand, shows all eight sticks and 256GB. I’ve tried remounting the CPU waterblock (Optimus Absolute), cleaning out the slots, placing each stick in a different slot - nothing seems to work. I have successfully used all 256GB in another machine, with an Asus WRX80 Sage and a 3995WX. All signs point to either motherboard or IMC on the CPU, yeah?
Any ideas?
Just found a thread with the same issue (slot D1, same as me). Looks like I gotta remove the motherboard and see if there’s still a standoff on the case for the top/middle position since this board has no mount hole there. Will report back
Yup, that was it. Here’s the thread for reference: [Solved] Asrock wrx80 creator R 2.0 - D1 Ram Issue

Wild. I remember that I saw this standoff when I was installing my ASRock WRX80 Creator R1.0 back in the day and I’m honestly shocked that it only ended up like this. I thought that leaving this standoff could easily lead to severely frying motherboard. I’m glad your board is okay. It’s amazing platform btw. Imho it’s one of better motherboards made in history ever. I’m sure it’s gonna serve you well, expansion potential on this board is absolutely mad.
