Hi
I started my build for a 7970x TRX50 machine. I ordered a Seasonic Vertex 1200w power supply and I see that there is only one 12vhpwr connector. Is appears that the AsRock motherboard needs two of these while the Asus needs none. This is written in the supplimental notes for the mother board.
I was hoping to go for the AsRock motherboard but now it seems I would have to RMA the seasonic supply. Or, just get the Asus motherboard.
Am I missing something here?
Which power supplies have two of the 12VHPWR connectors?
Thanks, Tom
Welcome,
Neither of those TRX50 motherboards require 12VHPWR connectors; Only 24, 8 and 6 pin power connectors are needed for the motherboard itself.
I think what you are referring to is the ATX12v1 and ATX12v2 voltage planes of the motherboard, basically its just saying to make sure you plug in separate 8 pin EPS connectors to both the v1 and v2 connectors on the motherboard.
Hi
You are right! Somehow I confused the markings for the 12VHPWR connector. Thanks for setting me straight!
