This my 3rd AsRock FM2A75-ITX R2.0. The first one died and killed my CPU. The second one died in about 2 weeks and I RMA'd it. The 3rd one just got here and I cant get it to post. What should I do? Tried reseating it, unpluged and plugged in CPU power and 24 pin many times. Tried different PSU... still nothing I turns on but nothing comes from it... it just sits there on and no video comes out of it.
check you psu and voltage from the outlet. Triple RMA is rare but it is probable I have experienced it with sim racing wheels *cough* fanatec *cough* they 2nd day air everyone ahead of time amazing customer service.
On the mobo there should be a header for a chasis speaker. If you attach the speaker you should get a series of beeps that will help you diagnose the problem.
well its strange that your third board is also killed, i would start thinking of the psu then, But yeah its still a cheaper asrock board, so it could be that you just have bad luck.. i you have a store arround, i would say go to there and check if your cpu is still working.
As I'm reading this I have to wonder how prone to static are you? But as I get nearly electrocuted everytime I pet me cat, I'd go with check the PSU, there has to be a grounding issue there or something shorting out. It's near impossible to get 3 bad boards in a row (even ECS gets a good one here and there and I won't touch'em even if I'm paid to) Asrock used to be good for a budget, but something is definitely wrong here.
ok, so different PSU's, the board and cpu/apu obviously.. this might be that time to look at what else in the system might cause this. As I'm looking over the info you've given, the RAM looks constant... do you have other Ram to test with, there is a chance it got damaged off the first 2 and might be why it's not posting. Just a theory but worth a look.
hermmm, ok. maybe it's time to look at a different board, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128663 for instance granted it's a bit more, but for the hassle you're going through, the Asrock is just not working. From what I'm seeing you'd be getting more features out of this. Plus you could go Kaveri with it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130664 is another choice, my step daughter's boyfriend has one of these and to $95 roughly, it's not a bad board. The wifi needs a better antenna, but runs great otherwise.
Might not be the answer your looking for, but if you have 3 bad boards... it's either really bad luck or the universe is telling you avoid that product *shrug*.
