Has anybody seen these boards? They seem to be basically NUC sized motherboards with AMD processors.
The 4x4-V1000 has a V1605B processor with 4 cores and eight threads at 2.0 GHz and a Vega 8. The 4x4-R1000 comes with either the R1505G at 2.4 GHz or R1606G at 2.6 GHz, both 2c/4t with a Vega 3. All models have M.2 and dual(!) NICs.
These would be great for small HTPCs, test boxes, or even just giving to the average PC users.
I did a quick search, but I didn’t find a place selling the bare boards individually
I looked before and the best I could find was full machine meant for embedded industrial applications on a website that pointed you to which distributors sold them. I didn’t check but it most likely means orders with a minimum qty and tax exemption (business license).
I had better luck finding their EPYC big brother, but that was seriously overkill and too expensive to use for a mere HTPC or such.
I forgot about the Sapphire FS-FP5 for a second, but these ASRock boards seem like they could offer the same/similar use cases as the Sapphire, except with an extra NIC and being smaller.
Paging @wendell, any of your ASRock contacts want to be nice?
