@wendell , I would imagine the first youtube channel to do a cross comparison between all three api’s (dx11, dx12, vulcan) would net quite a few views…

DirectX 12 and Vulkan are virtually the same API. Both are slight variations of Mantle, with Vulkan also taking care of mobile GPUs. So any performance difference would be due to the renderer and drivers being better/worse optimized for the respective APIs. Still interesting, but not a comparison between APIs.
It’s spelled Vulkan btw, not sure why so many people call it vulcan.
cheers
spelling corrected

dx12 run
36 vs. 39 fps? Am I reading these correctly?
Yes
keep in mind its the cpu test only
3 fps higher on vulkan in the cpu test (just feels odd spelling it like that…)
so 8.33% faster
entry 9 seems odd to me on the dx12 test as that flag means the gpu was waiting on the cpu on dx12
am I reading that right?
Ashes of the benchmark gets a new API. Coolio I guess
Yes. In the Vulkan test, the CPU was limiting the FPS; in the DX12 test, the GPU was limiting the FPS.
