As of yesterday, I am a proud owner of Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition. Ask Me Anything :)

Convergence is practically a no on the phone. Aquarius released the M10 which has a micro HDMI socket, and the device works in converged mode, but one has to accept a slight but perceptable input lag, specifically from the curser.
I have been using my MX4 for almost a year, and it still works well. The app selection is still very small compared to Android (and Apple I assume, never tried any idevices myself) most of the "apps" are simple containers to access websites, though they are generally solid.
Saying that, on my android phone I only had like two dozen apps (eddited... The autocorrect seems to prefer paps...), and most of them would have also been fine as web apps.
Just my 2 pence of course...

I fell off of a bike few weeks ago and broke the power button on my MX 4. I was very satisfied with it until then. The camera software was a bit buggy and underfeatured, although that should've been fixed in ota-11. The convergence is not coming so far - officially it's for MX5 PRO and the upcoming phones.

Today I will be receiving my new BQ Aquaris M10 tablet, so I'll probably create a new post for answering questions about the tablet and reviewing it.

I'd say no to ubuntu on a phone, because of the lack of apps, but a tablet with linux would be amazing!
Because on tablet apps are not really that necessary since browser is mostly used and form factor lets you use desktop programs. Tbh sounds like a sweet deal!

Now i suddenly want Ubuntu touch on my galaxy tab s :D

no Expandable storage? that's a deal breaker for me.

-hypocritically sent from my Nexus 6p Gold

I am not much of an apps user, so I had no trouble using the phone as a daily driver. I am currently typing this on my new Bq M10 and it is excellent. All the reviews based upon the OTA 9.5 are now false. It is much snappier than I excepted based on my Meizu MX4 experience, even snapier than my fathers $200 Lenovo. True, it was $100 more, but it is also so much more powerful. Even the app selection is much better than what I remember just month ago....

Positives: the screen is nice, multitasking is fun and the desktop is also very usable. The interface is about as snappy as my brother's ipad mini 2. Bash is even more useful on a tablet than on a phone. It even handles youtube 1080p video in a browser, albeit with a few tears and frameskips., when using a Telegram app while watching.

Neutrals: Cameras and speakers are quite usable,, would like to use it as a video conferencing machine when some app comes out.

Negatives: The UI slows down sometimes, there are some bugs with the splitscreen and desktop apps. The keyboard does not work with desktop apps... Hopefully it will get fixed in ota12.. There are definitely apps missing for the BFU but I can work around it by using bash and web browser, which are rather great and ok respectively. The browser is a bit slow, but still usable.

All in all, I am even more excited than when I was getting my MX4. With The OTA11 I am not afraid to show off the tablet to my non-techie friends -the cons are there, but the positives, the potential and freedom factor make it up.

Have you messed with Wine at all on it? Or does Wine even work on it since ARM?

Wine does not work on ARM and to be honest, the only thing I run in Wine for the past 3 years is Skyrim

Not a deal breaker, just curious, Im sure Teamviewer or the web version of it works.

Damn....now I am thinking of putting off my 4k Camera purchase....

How many times can you drop before it breaks?

not so sure... But i can try it for you.

Web version requires Adobe Flash, so it does not work (for now)
