Artists encouraging free music

Hey guys,

As it has been talked on the videos by Logan about music and movie piracy.. I found this video which is really good and encouraging

I also like the model Jesse Valentine (F-777) uses. He mostly just puts his music on bandcamp, gives you a price at release of $1,- per song, and $9,99 for an entire album. Then after a month or so he will gradually lower the price of the full album.

Alternatively he will do a name your price, and he even has free music.

Now you might say that it's not all free music, and no it is not. But the way he communicates with the people who like his music is just awesome. He plays it fair, gives you opportunities to purchase his music, as well as letting you listen to it for free. And while you can't download the music for free (officially), imagine how much better the world would be if everyone would behave like him. Just playing it fair, and knowing how important and even helpful your audience can be.
