Ok first off im new to the PC building community. I just got done with my mobo installations and i ran the CPU-Z program to see what it diid, everything checked out except for my ram, it said that my ram was running at 900 - 990 mhz, if im not mistaked the ram is suppose to run @1333mhz unless overclocked? My ram is kingston hyper x 1866mhz and my mobo is a M5A97 from Asus.
On a diiferent note i tried making my first purchase from steam, but when i hit the purchase buttom it tells me tha my card is declined. I checked my online bank statment and they took my money, but they have not given me any order confirmation or downloads. The customer support is god awful, borderline non existent. I have sent them an email but i have not gotten a reply or my games yet. is their anybody that have had these issues that can point me in the right direction? Thanx
Give us the model number of your RAM.
That is the right speed you take what CPUZ tells you and multiply by 2 because its ddr3 memory
According to ASUS's website that RAM isnt compatiable with your motherboard and may not be stable.

As far as the Steam purchase goes, you need to go on their website and open up a ticket. Give them about 48 hours and problem should be resolved.
DDR (double data rate) 900mhz+900mhz=1800mhz your ram is running as it should be there is nuthing wrong with it.
Thank you everyone for your help, i have one more question. I ran cinebench to see where my performance would stand, my CPU ran a 6.80 and open GL ran a 66.68. but some other people with the same CPU/GPU are getting CPU 7.50 and GPU in the mid to high 70's, is this potentiially a problem?
No thay are morelikely overclocked allso have you added the hot fixes for amd FX chips yet?

(unpack them both install the first one from where you unpacked it then reboot then install the second one and rebbot)
This is for windows 7 (so if you have windows 8 dont worry about it)
Don't ever trust synthetic benchmarck scores as typically they have a variable like low latency RAM or an overclocked bus frequency which may skew results compared with yours.
My FX-8350 gets a 8.14 at 4800 MHz and with 2400 MHz CL 11 RAM. where as at stock it barely hits 6.85. You can't rely on synthetic benchmark scores for real world performance.
Thank you but i have windows 8
Thanx again for all the help. I would be FN lost without the world of Tek Syndicate!
