I will gladly gift an ARMA 3 Alpha lite to anybody who can answer this question:
Briefly stated, what are the limitations of the Euler theory of buckling addressed by the Rankine-Gordon formula?
Diagrams, where appropriate, may be used.
What's more the person may also set a second question, which if answered correctly, will net somebody a second alpha lite.
No, not quite lol. An effort though.
Looks like this idea wasn't as popular as I thought it could be so I'll just give you one of the two Alphas and leave the question open for the last.
Add, my_zero_sum on steam and I'll send it too you if you want it, or just give me an email. If you want it that is.
The 'Lite' version is the ARMA 3 Alpha without the multiplayer or modding.
You can try out the single player and map editor I believe. A friend of mine has been playing around on it and says it's pretty cool.
I'm looking for something a bit less complex than the answer to life, the universe and everything. It's only buckling theory. Haha.
It has become obvious to me there aren't many, if any, engineers on here. Not that you need to be one to answer the question.
Euler's buckling load per unit area exceeds the crushing stress of the material, beoming invalid for short columns.
DING DING DING! We have a winner!
You sir have yourself an ARMA 3 Alpha lite invite. Give me an email to send it too or add me on steam: my_zero_sum
