Are these U.2 PCIe adapters likely to work for PCIe gen 3?

I’m looking to attach 3x U.2 NVMe drives to a server. They’re PCIe gen 3. I found some adapters on ebay (links below), and though I saw Wendell’s video about these being sketchy for Gen4, I’m hoping to hear that someone here has tried this class of product on Gen3 drives and can confidently say “yeah, they’re fine for Gen3!”

Thanks. Example products:

Hey! Did you have any luck with either of these? I also have a couple gen3 U.2 nvme ssds and just had a dud of an ebay card arrive (only sees 1/2 drives, bifurcation is on - sees no drives if both slots on the card are populated).

I never bought them so I can’t comment, sorry. The board I was working on had oculink connectors and I ended up using oculink → U.2 cables.

You wouldn’t happen to have x8x8 bifurcation set would you? What you described is exactly the behavior I’ve expect with that mode of bifurcation.
