So I've been thinking about upgrading from console to PC. I've thought about it for a while and decided to try and pick the parts I need to build one. Thing is I've never had experience building one so I was wondering if anyone can help check if everything's okay or not. I know that I could probably upgrade the graphics card to something better, however I decided to buy an Xbox One for the next gen games. I just want to upgrade to a decent PC instead of using this laptop to play games. It's not that great. Plus, I get a free copy of Watch_Dogs as well, which is nice!
So can someone let me know if this would be alright to use to build a PC? :)

*EDIT - Forgot to mention that I don't plan on overclocking anything!*
Here's what I came up with: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/6bBkjX
CPU: I changed that to help there be a little bit extra money for other components in the build.
Motherboard: The motherboard you picked has a weak 4+2 powerphase design. That wouldn't work very well with an 8-core FX CPU. The one I picked has a 6+2 powerphase, which still isn't enough for an 8-core, but should be enough for the 6-core, which is another reason I switched CPUs
RAM: running 2 sticks in dual channel is faster than one stick in single channel.
Graphics card: The R9 270 is a bit better than a GTX 660. It can also be easily overclocked to reach the performance of a 270x, since they are basically the same GPU, just the 270x has faster default clock speeds. Benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1039?vs=1043
If you don't plan on overclocking than I'd just stick with the 660 then.
Awesome, thanks so much! :)
yes, that it's definetely the best price to performance ratio build right know. In my opinion you should go with the 270 even if you're not an overclocker, and plus if you're going to buy this this computer not especially for gaming you can go with a 750ti, the PSU is actually overpowered for that build, I would go with an XFX550.
