Are there any amd motherboards that have pcie 3?

Putting together some stuff for build ideas for both me and some friends, some of said ideas will be targeting 4k just to see what it would take. I want to have an amd option or two, but I think pcie 3 would probably be needed.  Are there any amd motherboards that have pcie 3?

Not for FX CPU's. Asus did a limited edition Sabertooth that supported it but you won't find any for sale.

In the real world it makes no perceptible difference - even at high resolutions.

Really? I thought 2+ of the highest end gpus bottle necked pcie 2.  Oh well I guess thats cool.

No. Not even close. A 980 won't even fully saturate a PCIE 2.0 X8 bus. Even when you run it at PCIE 2.0 X4 the performance decrease is minimal.

Plus, when running multiple GPUs the bandwidth is the same.

On 990FX, generally,  the PCIE lanes run at PCI 2.0 X16 and X16. On Z97, generally, you get PCIE 3.0 X8 and X8. A PCIE 3.0 X8 slot has the same bandwidth as a 2.0 X16 slot. So it is the same.

Oh! I didn't know amd boards actually gave two real pcie 2 dlots, I thought they did the same crap intel does and gives 16 lanes and only gives you access to all 16 if you only have a card in one of them. Okay well all my concerns are taken care of then.

Only on 990FX, on 970 boards the second GPU does get less, like X16 X8 i think.

one x16 and one x8 is still better than what intel does with its x8 x8.

970 boards are x16 / x4 mainaly.

990X is X16 / X8

990FX is X16 / X16

Here are two articles testing the differences between PCIe speeds and generations and stuff:

Right now the only thing really limiting AMD boards are the processors, which even then aren't bad unless you need/want the latest and greatest (gotta get those last 2 FPS!).
