Hi,
I'm considering buying a second hand Noctua product, which has only been used for 6 months. I am aware that new products come with an 6 year warranty, however is this transferable, will i be able to use the 5 1/2 years warranty left over from this product?
Thanks,
Tom
Considering their RMA process requires you to tell them the purchase date and upload an invoice, I'd highly doubt it. Why wouldn't you just contact Noctua directly and ask them?
Make sure you get the invoice and you should be good.
I highly doubt you'll need to use the warranty, anyways (as long as it's a genuine noctua).
I send a message to Noctua and this is how they replied....
"The warranty is transferable, but please keep in mind that it does only cover manufacturing defects and we'll won't be able to replace mechanically damaged heatsinks or fans. We didn't think of selling warranty extensions so far, but I'm sure that we'll be able to find a solution in case you product is slightly outside the warranty period."
If you're in the EU, you get the remainder of the mandatory 2 year full warranty, and there is no way for Noctua to limit it.
