Are fan power splitters compatible with all PSU's?

I've seen this, Pink 4 Pin to 4 x 3 Pin Connector, but not really sure if it will be compatible across all PSUs, or in particular the CX600M.
Also, will it work with the fans in the Corsair 500R?.
I'm not really an expert on fans, just making sure if I can connect the 4 fans included in the case with the power splitter. If anyone has any experience or own this case, please let me know.

The 500R has weird proprietary fan connectors but includes a controller/splitter for all of them. You won't even need your fan splitter.
