Hello. I am curious about the same thing. They clearly are able to run coreboot on modern hardware but how free are these systems really, since the FSF does not recommend them? What are the caveats to System76’s claim of having disabled Intel ME? (I mean, I read even DELL offered to disable ME as an optional with their corporate systems). And how come only they and similar other companies are able to run coreboot on modern hardware while everyone else is stuck with old Thinkpads or (at best) AMD Opteron?
