Thats why I brought it up, I had to do something similar for my Thinkpad T450s to work.
can you tell me what exactly --removable flag do.
The UEFI on some motherboards require a different directory structure for the efi file. --removable does it automatically.

but i have installed arch before also on this same pc, never used --removable it worked without it.
