Hey I’m wondering on what apps people use to keep your phones storage clean and free of junk I’ve been using droid optimizer for a while and it’s not bad but I do feel like it’s not the best
Root, custom kernel and rom. I don't install junk I keep complete control over my phone.
ES File explorer to roam around and keep an eye on things. Titanium back to remove what i don't want. Periodic clean out of things i no longer use. Nothing automatic and after a while reinstall the OS.
What's so good about a custom kernel anyway I've heard about it quite a bit but I'm not sure of the point
I use mine for charging options like high current charging on older phone Note 2. And overclocking the CPU and GPU. Stepping changes and others. So when it is idling and sleeping it is using almost no power and when running something it is running overclocked.
I find that storage optimizer apps do nothing to speed up your device. Rooting is the easiest to clean up a phone with results. Nothing beats a well made custom rom for speeding up your device but depending on your device it may be very difficult or impossible to flash a rom.
I root my device, Install one of my favorite roms (Preferentially Cyanogenmod) and after that download the nano install of GApp. so it just gives me the Play Store on my Device. anything I don't want on my system is gone, and left over apps, I go to app info, click Force stop, then disable, and boom. extra clean system.
though realistically if you don't have your device rooted, you're not going to truly clean out your device. most you can do is stop apps and disable them they are still on the system.
