Apple wired keyboard key mapping problem

So I have built a new PC completely non-Apple computer but I don't have a keyboard so I'm using the Apple wired keyboard with numeric keys because I have one from a old iMac. I plugged it into my new PC running Windows 8 Pro and all works fine, however some of the keys aren't mapped right, for instance when you hold shift and press the '2' it should write the @ symbol but instead writes " and visversa. I have downloaded the Apple keyboard drive from my friends BootCamp software installed that and it hasn't changed anything. How do I get the keys to be mapped correctly?

Sounds like you have it mapped as a UK keyboard, as that is how they are layed out.

Within Control Panel find the "Clock, Region and Language" part and under there should be an option to change keyboard layout/language. Then remap it as a US keyboard if that is where you are.

Thanks a lot man that completely fixed the problems. Appreciate the help!
