Some of my recent studies on "The Cult Of Apple" I find it to be very baffeling that a company can do this. They will capture and produce people into these very ignorant specimens of assholearey. I understand I could of added more features on the iPhones side of things but the highlet is the price and I think I make that very clear.
This post is very ignorant aswell.
Youre comparing 2 completely different types of products
And no, I dont like apple
I don't see how it is ignorant to compare 2 different products when there is a valid point.
I know exactly what you mean.. I bought a new phone recently (one x) and could have easily replaced most of my computer parts for the price I paid.. which is kinda lame because my computer really needs some upgrades but still, the argument would be a lot more convicing if you were comparing it to another phone like everyone else does.. there are plenty of android phones that are cheaper but have far superior specs.
I guess it's still pretty bad, the idea that phones these days are significantly more expensive than a fully productive desktop.. oh well.. cheap chinese designs might push the price down, there have been some pretty nice looking ones recently
I thought the cheapest iphone was 200 dollars and the most expensive 400? Where are you getting 850 dollars?
I completely agree Diggles, I find it to be very stupid how careless poeple are with their money. It's not entirely about the specs but I figured there worth mentioning. Also, the price I found, the $850 I believe is for the states and im in Canada so up here it's ever more. Sitting at $899-.-

Thats the Canadian price soooo yeaahh... enjoy your facepalm.
LOL this is quite interesting honestly
i agree, a phone should not cost more then a computer when a computer dose so much more lol :)
If you look at the price in the UK, the 64GB model is £699 (~$1130). So yeah, I wouldn't spend my money on something like that. I'm fine with my cheap chinese smartphone.
Yuppppp, Cheap Chinese smartphones for the win and glad you like my research Rinax.
hmm a cell phone interesting concept, wish i had one lol
Phones cost more because of the miniturization of the parts. Hence why laptops and notebooks are also more expensive compared to their equivelant desktop parts. $800 sounds about right for the iPhone, the only time you pay $200 or so is when you sign to a contract because then the carriers subsidize the price through your monthly plan that you are now trapped to for 2/3 years.
Apple's stuff usually also cost more because they spend so much money on the designs of their products and they don't use cheap plastics on their iPhones either. I think Apple spends too much on design, really. Steve Jobs seemed like the kind of guy that would spend an infinite amount of money on R&D for product until it was perfect to him. Then they have to make back their money spent, of course.
It'd be interesting to see how much money goes into the research and development of the iPhone vs other comparable phones.
Well however matter how much money is spent on the overall research is clearly not enough because they still can't get it right in comparison to the S3 and other various smartphones.
Ya but thats with contract without its much more
well you are not entirely correct on your comparison. Yes they are both "computers" and yes they do similar things. BUT mobile technology is much more expensive in general. and as better as a computer is and with more things that it can do if you want to live life outside your house a desktop computer will not help you much. Even a laptop cannot replace a mobile phone.
I agree that phones should not cost more than computers but thats how it is unfortunately. Maybe a more fair and understandable comparison would be a pre built apple desktop or laptop in comparison to a PC ;) everyone knows the out come but no1 cares and this is what I find shocking
