Anyone with G-SYNC?

Have you used your monitor with a non G-SYNC capable graphics card?

I've had the Acer Abprz (XB270H) for a while now, and have really enjoyed G-SYNC. However, I can't get the monitor to work with any other graphics card. NVidia's website says G-SYNC monitors should work with non G-SYNC capable cards, albeit without the G-SYNC feature. I've yet to get this work. Any tips?

I've tried..

  • Onboard Intel HD4600 on my i5 4670k dvi to dvi
  • Onboard Intel something another on my work laptop hdmi to dvi

I've yet to try an AMD card. My HP Envy 14 laptop has an ATI 5650, but that laptop is currently dead. I plan to bring it back to life this weekend, and I'll give it a shot after that.

That's been a somewhat known problem. JayzTwoCents, the youtube personality, had the 4k acer G-Sync panel and it refused to work with any AMD card he hooked up to it. He had to switch to a monoprice 4k for all his 4k tests because of the issue.

Now that you mention it.. I remember seeing that video somewhat recently.

It's a bit unfortunate because I wanted this monitor mainly for gaming, but also to use occasionally with my work laptop on days I work from home. My work laptop has a terrible 1366x768 resolution.

Yeah it sucks. 1366x768 is known as the worst resolution of all time for a reason...
