I am in the market for a new set of monitors since my current set suck.
I am looking at the Dell U2414H as my upgrade. I actually just got a glimpse of IPS technology because a few days ago I purchased a pair of Acer h236hl bid's and sadly had to return them because of their horrible overdrive settings. Basically I experienced the worst inverse ghosting a gamer could experience. Other than that the panels were very vibrant which made my games look great!
Speaking of gaming I do a fairly good amount of it a week. My two FPS games I play are TF2 and CSS. However, I am not too interested in a super fast TN panel. Since, again, I just fell in love with IPS panels. I just need something that won't have gross inverse color trails following characters and walls when I move around in a map.
I have the S2340M which seems to be very similar in general to the U2414H. I love it. Use it for gaming without problem, but I don't do much competitive stuff. The colors and viewing angles on this thing are really good. Ben using it for years without problem.
Thanks for the fast reply! I really appreciate it. Quick question. Does the panel experience any ghosting like this user's panel? I might just be a little paranoid because I had to return my previous monitors for this reason. Just making sure.
Here you go. This is at 1/8 speed. Obviously, it uses pwm for the backlight, however, I don't notice it in daily use and sit behind it for many hours a day (8+?), though some people are more sensitive than others. Anyway, no problem like that video above.
Thanks a million for sharing that. I really appreciate it. That update speed looks similar to my current screen, which means I wouldn't notice anything! Fantastic :D
