Anyone use Adobe CC on Win 8.1?

Hi,

So I'm still undecided on which OS to use for my new build, 7 or 8.1. I hear 8.1 has performance improvements, and when one uses either classicshell, start8 or startIsBack, one gets that traditional experience back.

So I will mainly be using the following:

  1. Premiere Pro CC
  2. Prelude CC
  3. Audition CC
  4. Photoshop CC
  5. After Effects CC
  6. and a Wacom Intuous Pro tablet

I do have Steam and Origin too. I haven't gamed on PC for sometime, but would be nice to still do this.

Although Windows 8.1 has performance benefits, and future DirectX support, I get the feeling that there are still a load of compatability issues.

Can someone confirm whether 8.1 is still suffering from compatability issues? If so, looks like I will go with 7.

Thanks

Sim

I have used Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1 but none of the other applications in the suite on it. All should be fine though.

The links below document the main improvements in Windows 8.x and get quite technical and were written by Steven Sinofsky himself leading up to the release of Windows 8. I have bolded and italicized the ones most worth reading. Keep in mind though that some of the screenshots may inaccurate since the GUI has changed a bit since the 8.0 release.

Thanks for that. Lots of reading there, and I just saw the fast boot video and that is rediculous.

I use all of these things except the Wacom Tablet on Windows 8.1 64bit and have never run into any sort of problem.  They seem to run fantastically (or as fantastic as an Abobe program can run).

Fantastic that is good to know. Well I popped over to Wacom and their driver says Windows 8, so things are looking good.
