just wondering if anyone here has tried it, ive been getting into tea a bit more as of late, partially for a coffee substitute.
Also a side question, if anyone knows where to get good priced tea ?
iv recently purchased Dragon Well (Lung Ching) green tea and "Drunken Red" - Sun-dried, Feng Qing Black tea from http://www.silkroadteas.com/
Yeah, its pretty good usually. Im pretty big on tea. If you want something more like coffee go for black teas, and make them with milk. And with these teas you can't mess up much as they are not as sensitive to temperature or steeping time.
Vanilla flavored black tea with milk is probably one of those teas that everyone loves. Its kinda like drinking coco.
If you want to venture out and try Pu-erh you have to make sure you get it from reputable importer.
It doesn't taste how you think it would either. Not like A fine aged wine. more like murky & bitter mixed with strong grassy taste. Not my cup of tea. no pun intended.
When it comes to tea only the direct imported tea from farmers is worth spending big bucks on. All other teas are processed with chemicals and lack the organic herbal potency.
I like it since I can drink it with or without milk. I got mine from a target brand called numi, they claim that it's organic too. If the cheap shit is good, you can only go up from there I suppose.
Most def not a replacement for coffee though. You might wanna try doing espresso if american coffee is getting you too lit up. It's a good middle ground between the tea and coffee worlds, and, as a plus, you can also drink it with, or with out milk.
Adding any type of ingredient to the tea like sugar or milk is a eastern custom similar to the costume of adding creams and sugar to coffee. My point is anything added to tea will reduce the overall concentration of the tea leaf and ultimately kill the flavor of tea altogether. Even different water can effect the quality of brewed tea.
This is what i do. I purchase the best virgin green tea money can buy and steep in different levels of harden water to find the best overall dosage and temp combination.
Most people don't realize how subtle the taste of tea actually is and all they taste is the harden water and flavors of other ingredients when brewing commercialized teas.
