I would like to make a good mini 5 minute show for youtube.
Depends on your price range...though id say the best Dslr for shooting video would be the Canon 5D Mark ii or the mark iii...but thats are around 2500-3500 bucks
Canon T2i revised version (newer one). I use mine alot for video. Very good for basic functions and good picture.
Well if we had a budget im sure we could find something, but without a budget who knows
you could get a D800 and output the RAW video to a Recording device, but that would run you around $4000+ at minimum
On the cheap get a T3 and use Magic Lantern with a 50mm F/1.8 and some cheap lights from a hardware store (make sure they are 6500K)
The T2i is a good choice, reviesed version or normal version. It's capable of 1080p @ 30fps and has a 3.5mm jack for attaching a mic onto it. I've used both the T1i and the T2i and they have alot of features useful for filming (although the T1i does not do 30fps 1080p and doesnt have a mic input), but probably most useful of all is the capability for manual auto-focus which allows you to rack focus while filming.
My advice is to pick up a T2i and Sennheiser MKE-400 or a Rode VideoMic. This should be more than enough for amature and professional use, if you get really serious the only thing you will need to invest in is better sound equipment and maybe a better lense kit.
1000 dollar budget
For a 1000 dollars, the T2i is a really good choice. With said above mic and other accessories. It has better specs then the T3i, and T3 (just look it up, sounds really weird but its true)
I bought my T2i fo around $600 with the basic lense kit. There should leave you plenty of room for picking up one of those mic's I mentioned.
i bought a t3 off a friend for 100 with lens he didnt need it no more
For 1000$ The Canon 60D is one of the best dslrs for shooting video just get that and a 500mm 1.4 or 1.8
Canon or Sony crop sensor DSLRs of the latest generation, with a small set of 3rd party prime lenses (Sigma, Tamron, Zeiss, etc) with an easy to reach manual focus ring or old manual focus prime lenses.
Then Buy a nice lens for video and Put Magic lantern on it!
The GH2 and the GH3 are quite good. They are not too expensive, but they really stand out in terms of moire reduction and general image quality.
