I'm thinking of getting the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid and need to choose between red, black and brown switches. I Have tried black switches but it wont be possible for me to try any others due to no shops stocking them. Can people tell me their preference of the 3? I don't know if the red would feel too light for me...

I personally haven't bought a sampler kit, but they're highly rated. I went out and got a mechanical with brown switches and these ones aren't too hard to get used to because of the soft tactile bump when you've registered the keystroke. I think whatever you chose all you need is a bit of time to get used to it. Peoples prefernces on these things are always subjective so I don't think you should base what you want on what other people like. Look up the details for each switch type and then chose based on your needs.
Anyway, but yeah, blacks are stiffer reds. Browns are like reds but have a tactile bump 2mm in which is used to register the keystroke, the key can go up to 4mm in which is called bottoming out.
