Anyone else having troubles updating to Windows 10?

Anyone else having trouble updating to Windows 10?

I reserved my update days ago, and I have yet to get the notification to let me install Windows 10.

I made sure I have downloaded and installed all windows updates and I have restarted my PC several times and still nothing. I believe my Windows 10 update may be glitched, because when I click on the 'get windows 10' icon at the bottom of my computer screen, the pop-up won't load. It has been stuck on this current screen for about an hour now:

But, when I disconnect my computer from the internet, it opens up with this almost immediately:

No matter what I do I cannot install the new Windows 10. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can update?

Thanks

You can download the installer manually from Microsoft here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

You'll just have to be patient. The automatic update goes out to Windows 10 Insiders first. I reserved copies for my pc's weeks ago plus I'm in the Windows Insider Program and the automatic update app hasn't downloaded 10 yet. If you don't want to wait, you can go to the Windows 10 download page on Microsoft.com and download and install the update manually but you probably won't be able to activate since the Microsoft servers are under pretty heavy load right now.

http://venturebeat.com/2015/07/28/how-to-force-windows-to-start-downloading-the-windows-10-update-files/ This is working for me. I could not be bothered to wait.

See if Internet Explorer 11 is installed and updated. Believe it or not you need it installed for Windows 10 app to work.

That is not true. Insiders have been running the RTM build for about two weeks now. they didn't get their reserved copies first. if you are a "Windows Insider" and you reserved your copy on you main machine that is running WIndows 7 or Windows 8.1 you have to wait like everyone else.. if you installed a Technical preview build on your machine, then you are already running Windows 10. we don't have to wait for anything. in fact we don't have to deal with the non-sense people are getting trying to update their machines hat have reserved Windows 10.

As for Machines that are reserved. Microsoft's servers are taking the biggest hit on their servers ever seen on this earth. if you click the Windows 10 icon on your desktop it will tell you exactly what's going on it.

It will either mention

A. We're sending out the updates in Waves.
B. We're validating your PC for Windows 10.

There are multiple sources that state what to do to remedy the situation. of course the big one is to wait like everyone else. and the other is to see if you can force the update using a command in command prompt. and the last is to download the .ISO from Microsoft and do a clean install. but it's not recommend you do that until you've upgraded prior.
