i am still rocking a phenom ii x4 965 BE, i think an excellent processor and am using a corsair h80i i just got for 45$ off the egg and have a h60 as well and i want to know if anyone has ever opened the loop and added to it, i know you are gonna have to replace hoses but i want to add the second rad from the h60 i have seen some stuff online with people adding a reservoir or replacing tubes but i dont know how long they would last, can the pump take it? what do you think
yes it can be done ... seen some interesting ones ... daisy chains and such
Done it , but it isn't worth it , check the metals , swap out the fluid , properly isolate if you really want to .
I did it with a H100 + other H100 rad . The pump ended up dying after ~3 months .
yeah i know the corsair pump is kind of weak i wonder if i hooked up my h60 pump in th loop too wonder if the second pump would hurt one another, did you use two h100 rads in the same loop
yeah xD didn't put it in a pc though , just did it for the lolz , would have posted pics , but I lost them :/
I've though about that , with multiple pumps , but I think it might be a problem ; but then aggain I found this when documenting myself : http://asetek.com/press-room/news/2010/new-asetek-liquid-cpu-coolers-support-pcs-with-92mm-fans.aspx
yeah but those are the same pumps im wondering if the different pressures could do damage, maybe if i have them in between rads, hmm definitely looking at all i can
That is why you would need a reservoir in the loop
That would not solve the problem ...
I would just take the CPU cooler you want , and add a rad from a broken kit ( or replace entirely the dual small rads with a big dual 120 / 140 rad ) .
If you want , I have a useless H100 here for 20€ if you want it , you can replace the stock rad with this one .
but if you are going through the trouble ... just get this and really long hoses so it will reach the mini fridge next to the desk put the rad in the fridge ... it will chill anything and be quiet. ... the fridge is kinda noisy .. but the beer is close by lol

yeah the motivation for the mod was i have two good kits and want to make a great kit, a dual rad wouldnt work well in my case, have a hafx cube just looking to push my phenom a bit further now that i can get more juice only running a single 970
Multiple pumps wont hurt it, it would be needed.
Add a resivor and put the h60 pump between the rads this will keep the water flowing without putting direct pressure on the h80 pump on the CPU. Make sure the resevor is the highest point in the system to catch any air in the system. Can't sy the gains will be huge but it should make some difference. The pumps may not last as long either bit long as theres no leaks why not.
The best solution would be to buy a bigger system like h100 or h110. If you can sit tight till black Friday there is usually some good sales going on.
That would kill your mini fridge.
It isnt designed to run full-time, but if you constantly had heat dumping into it, it would, and it would burn out.
