Any way to get arround some weird WPA PSK Wifi protection?

My dad recently kicked my phone and my tablet out of our wifi, but my computer is  still using it. The problem is, that the password of the wifi doesnt unlock it. My dad has a kind of list of all devices which are able to use the wifi (its a option in the settings i think)==> the device needs to be on the list to use the wifi

Is it possibile to get arround this kind of security?

Would be nice if you help me out, you don't need to post a guid just point me in the right directions to help me figure out how to solve the problem :-D

yes, there have been many threads on this. just download backtrack and fire up wifite or reaver and you'll have the password within an hour to fourteen hours

its not about the password i think i even know it. The device which wants to use the wifi needs to be on the list my dad uses

It is probably registrered on your dads list as a MAC adress. The list is on the router... use your computer and login to the router and add the mac-adress of your devices to the list. probably under advanced settings. A super low-tech solution is just to press the reset button on the router (but then he will probably notice and be unhappy ). Best way is to get the router password and add the devices mac-adresses to the allowed devices list. (He probably set it up, so that no strange devices came on to your network)

Your router has a MAC access control list. Since every internet connected device has it's own unique address, it's a very effective way of blocking a devices internet access.


Chances are that any attempts to get around this will be noticed, your router will end up kicking other devices off the network using this method.

In order to get around this, you would need to spoof your MAC address to look like another computer on your network that is on thie list.

Your phone / tablet would need to be rooted, and have busybox installed, you could then open terminal and do the following:

  su

  busybox ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:00:00:00:00 (replace this mac address with a device on your network, this won't work on all devices though)

Your phone is probably using a different name for the wifi interface,

Type ifconfig, it should list out the different interfaces, it's likely wlan0.

reset your router and make it the exact same as it was before (ssid, password, security type). Your phone won't be on the mac filtering list anymore

why not just buy a cheap wifi usb stick and use your computer* has a hotspot

this may be intrusive, but can i ask why your tablet and phone arent allowed on the network? it just strikes me as odd that a mobile device which has much less capacity to use bandwith would not be allowed on the network?!

first i already use my pc as hotspot but i cant keep it turned on all the time

 

my devices are not on the network because my dad doesnt want me to watch to much youtube

basically i did watch to much he looked into the internet usage statistic of my devices which i cant delete or stop (dame android 4.1.2) and now he doesnt trust me anymore ;-)
