I’m buying a ASUS RT-AC5300, but I noticed it’s actually cheaper to purchase it with an SB6183 after rebate. The only problem is RCN only offers 155 Mbps in my area, and my old SB6141 doesn’t even hit its full bandwidth. Would I actually see any benefit from using the new modem?
The biggest difference I can think of is the SB6183 has 16 downstream bonding channel vs 8 on the SB6141. So depending on how it gets provisioned and what happens with your company in the future, you could potentially see more consistent performance with the additional channels or upgrade the a better plan in the future, or re-sell it to a buddy.

On my SB6183 I am getting 300Mbps down on Comcast.
